New NZ Javelin Record

M50 Javelin Record

Congratulations to Nigel Stainton for breaking the M50 New Zealand javelin record. Nigel threw 51.63m at our Top Team Two meeting, to break both the Auckland and NZ records.
Well done Nigel.

World Championships - Sacramento

Congratulations to all those AMA members who made the trip to Sacramento CA for the World Masters Track & Field Champs, a total of 15 athletes took part and between them 13 medals were won and some great performances achieved. Our medal winners were:

Judith Stewart W60 10,000mts Bronze
Margaret Peters W75 100m & 200m Bronze
Shirley Barber W65 5000m Race Walk Bronze & W60 4 X 400m Relay Silver
Mike Parker M55 5000m Race Walk Bronze
Gavin Stevens M55 Marathon Bronze
Chris Waring W60 4X100m Relay Silver & 4 x 100m Relay Bronze
Anne Deleiros W60 4 X 100m Relay Bronze
Tui Ashe W60 4 X 400m Relay Silver & 4 x 100m Relay Bronze. 

Other AMA members who also competed and matched it with their peers were Althea Mackie, Tony Catchpole, Tony Deleiros, Anthony Wall, Sarah Armishaw-Stevens, Alan Eustace.
This event was a great experience and the perfect arena to excel oneself, achieve personal goals and come away with determination to keep competing.

NSB masters recently shared some friendly competition with their counterparts in Rarotonga
at the The Cook Islands Masters Athletic meeting held at the BCI Stadium in Rarotonga.
This event is held each October, culminating in the events on Gospel Day of Wednesday October 26.
