Auckland Marathon:Malcolm Chamberlin was one of the record number who crossed the Harbour Bridge on November 2 in the Auckland Marathon and arrived at the finish adjacent to Victoria Park 3hrs 27 mins 17 secs after starting at Devonport. Malcolm might now be able to relax a little and join his mates down at the track.

Gideon Tait Results:A lovely (but breezy) Auckland day meant a good turnout for our annual Gideon Tait meeting. A few new faces helped to bolster the fields and resulted in some good competition.
Anne Goulter took out the title for 2008 with 83.39%. Anne Deleiros was 2nd with 77.07% and Tui Ashe was 3rd with 74.37%.

Pan Pacific Games Results:Over on the sunny Gold Coast, Auckland Masters Chris Waring and Ron Johnson were in action and grabbing their share of medals and records too.
Chris Waring broke three Pan Pacific records in the W65 100m (15.67), 200m (32.51) & 300m (53.70). She also won the 60m in 9.80 and to cap it all off, she took first place in the Women's 100m handicap race.
Not to be outdone, the Ron Johnson 'machine' virtually steamrolled anyone in his path. Ron also broke the Pan Pacific record for the M75 300m Hurdles in a time of 68.30.
He also won the 400m (1.22.64), 800m (3.17.55), Discus (29.68m), Javelin (31.53m), Hammer (26.23m), Weight Throw (11.56m) and the Weight Pentathlon with 3432 pts.
Well done to both Chris and Ron and they will certainly be hard to beat at the Nth Island champs in a few weeks.

Misc Results:Members were stepping out all over the world this weekend with Christine Munro being the furthest flung in the Amsterdam Marathon. She added one more 42ker to her impressive list, running 3.49.28 in the Netherlands. Malcolm Chamberlin ran in Toowoomba in his Auckland Marathon build up while in Auckland many turned for the Sir Barry Curtis 10k Classic.
AMA champion John Read finished in 38.07 followed by his wife Kristine Reid in 39.55. Gerald Duncan did 40.04 and Liz Hardley took out the W50-59 age group in 49.42. Amongst the walkers David Sim was 3rd M40-49 in 54.44 and Shirley Barber tasted success winning the W60+ in 67.43 with Robert Sanders finishing in 68.36 for 3rd M50-59.

Pentathlon / Weight Pentathlon:Reasonable weather brought a good field out for Multi events day at Mt Smart on Sunday, the good competition resulted in three new Auckland records. Anne Goulter (3040 points) and Mark Cumming (3113) set new marks in the Womens 45-49 and Mens 45-49 Weight Pentathlon. Judith Stewart also broke the 10,000m for Womens 60-64 in 44.07.
Auckland Masters titles went to Anne and Mark in respective disciplines and Tui Ashe (3206) held onto her Womens Pentathlon trophy as did Wolfgang Schenk (2488) in the Mens Pentathlon.
